wine description

Ripe raspberry with juicy vanilla tobacco.

A brilliant ruby red with light garnet nuances makes the wine shine in the glass. The intense, clear color indicates freshness and structure and gives this Pinot Noir an elegant, inviting appearance that pleases the eye.

Aromas of ripe strawberries, raspberries and cherries dominate the bouquet, complemented by fine notes of oak, vanilla and tobacco. Earthy notes of leather and mushroom, paired with a subtle spiciness, create a complex, seductive aroma.

Dry and velvety, with harmonious acidity and soft tannins. Red fruit aromas and light wood notes unfold on the palate, leading into a long, elegant finish and leaving a balanced yet complex impression.

This Pinot Noir is matured in French oak, which gives it depth and a spicy structure. The cool climate and mineral-rich soils in Wairarapa provide ideal conditions for the grape, and the slow ripening promotes complexity and unique terroir notes.

In 1998, Kai emigrated to New Zealand with his partner Marion, who also became a winemaker. In Martinborough, in the very south of New Zealand's North Island, the two began planting vines on 14 hectares and realizing their dream of owning their own winery. In 2003, the first wines from Schubert Wines finally came onto the market. The success story begins...
