Painted Rock is featured in the best wine clubs in London and is still an insider tip in the rest of Europe. That won't be the case for much longer!

No matter what aspect of winemaking you choose or what external factor you consider, John Skinner's plan for the best possible wine quality at Painted Rock is uncompromising. No detail is overlooked. For example, the valuable soil of the existing peach orchard was not leveled, but each tree stump was removed individually before vines were planted. And the Syrah was planted where a cool air flow through a small ravine creates the perfect microclimate. The list of examples is endless.

Sustainability and organic farming are very important. From the very first harvest, the winery was showered with decorated awards from the established wine industry and praised by the most renowned wine critics. For us, this is a secondary aspect, because the focus is on the outstanding quality of Painted Rock wines.

The best weather in British Columbia.

The Okanagan Valley boasts the most beautiful weather in British Columbia! The climate is exceptionally mild with dry, hot summers and temperatures of over 30 °C and relatively mild winters with little snow and temperatures around 0 °C. Under these favorable climatic conditions and through intensive and skillful artificial irrigation, rich fruit growing has developed in the rain-poor valley. It was therefore no coincidence that John Skinner chose this location for his Painted Rock winery.
