Curtis Krouzel: Initiator, owner, simply the man behind 50th Parallel Estate Winery – what a guy! Looks – a rock star who rarely takes off his sunglasses. Hobby – a passionate surfer and fan of the WSL (World Surf League). But at the core, he is above all a man with a big heart, down-to-earth and not aloof, ultra-professional and obsessed with detail. And full of passion for 50th Parallel every minute. The result: amazing wines and a winery that you just have to visit!
Gravity Flow
After years of researching the perfect location in the region, Curtis has designed his winery not only visually but also with a top restaurant and tasting room. In the cellar, everything is geared towards processing and producing the wines as gently as possible - the keyword is "Gravity Flow". This design allows all processes that would normally require pumping to be carried out using gravity pressure. This reduces the mechanical stress on the wine and minimizes contact with oxygen during processing. Aromas are preserved in the best possible way and no additives are used.
Trust as the most important currency
Over 50 additives can be used in wine production, none of which have to be listed on the label. Mass-produced and cheap wines are flooding the market with artificially produced smells, appearances and tastes. The security of holding an HONEST product in your hand is therefore our top priority.
