    Weinbeschreibung

    Cool cherry with spicy graphite.

In the glass, a cool, shimmering ruby red with a transparent core – nothing loud, but quiet elegance. A hint of garnet at the rim shows that maturity is gleaming here without appearing tired. Slender in appearance, yet with depth in its gaze.

The nose opens up like forest floor after rain – damp, warm, mineral. Accompanying this are tart cherry, leather, a hint of dried sage, and a touch of graphite. Not a crude fruit bomb, but subtly built, with character and edge.

Lean yet sinewy on the palate. The tannins are finely spun like dark silk, the acidity provides grip – one could almost strike a match on it. Blackcurrant and cherry maintain tension, while earthy notes slowly push into the finish.

"Les Crais" comes from stony, barren soils with a lot of limestone underground – a terroir that disciplines Pinot Noir rather than spoiling it. Aged in barrique, but used sparingly. Not a show-off, but a wine with inner character and origin.

    Domaine Jean Fery

Burgundy's natural diversity in a glass – cherished worldwide for generations.

The roots of Domaine Jean Féry date back to the 19th century, when the family cultivated not only wine but also currants in the Burgundian village of Échevronne (Side Note: Legend has it that these black currants once formed part of the perfume icon Chanel No. 5). In 1980, Marcelle and Jean Féry founded the winery under their own name, and their son Jean-Louis Féry took over in 1988. With great passion, he expanded the family winery with new vineyards and modern cellar technology. Today, the vineyards cover about 14 hectares – spread across numerous renowned appellations from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte Chalonnaise. The winery has been organic certified since 2011. In the cellar, the team relies on traditional methods, carefully tending to the wines and avoiding unnecessary technology. Jean-Louis' motto is simple: "Quality is priceless." The next generation is already at the helm: his sons Frédéric and Laurent continue to run the Domaine with the same passion. You can taste all of this in every bottle – Burgundy to fall in love with, honest and unadulterated.
