wine description

Elegant raspberry with layered rose petals.

The wine impresses with its deep ruby red color with light garnet reflections. The clear, translucent color intensity underlines its elegance and gives an idea of the delicate structure, while the reflections indicate a complex maturity.

The bouquet combines red fruits such as raspberry, cherry and strawberry with earthy notes of leather and mushrooms. Spicy nuances of clove and liquorice, accompanied by a hint of dried rose petals, give the wine an extraordinary aromatic complexity.

On the palate, the Pinot Noir is smooth and dry with fine acidity and velvety tannins. The fruit aromas blend harmoniously with spicy and earthy accents, while a hint of black tea and mineral saltiness characterize the long, elegant finish.

The Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin in Gevrey-Chambertin offers optimal conditions with calcareous clay soils and a cool climate. The vinification takes place in French oak barrels, which give the wine depth and balance. This Grand Cru is a prime example of Burgundian elegance and finesse.

Domaine Taupenot - Merme

Virginie and Romain have revived a sleeping giant.

The siblings Virginie and Romain Taupenot cultivate over 13 hectares with 19 appellations from Auxey-Duressees in the south to Gevrey-Chambertin in the north of the Côte d'Or, producing a range that is as diverse as it is qualitatively homogeneous. Since the beginning of the millennium, organic farming without labels has revived a wine region that was born in 1974 from the union of the two owner families and that has since then awaited the passionate commitment of the current generation of owners to revive the full potential of the highly sought-after plots, in particular Mazoyères-Chambertin and Charmes Chambertin in the Grand Cru.
