wine description

Juicy raspberry with floral minerality.

The Morey Saint Denis La Riotte Premier Cru 2004 presents itself in a deep ruby red with delicate garnet reflections, which indicates harmonious maturity and elegance.

The nose is caressed by intense aromas of red fruits, such as juicy raspberries and cherries, as well as floral notes of violets and a hint of spices.

On the palate, an expressive mouthfeel with silky tannins unfolds. The flavor palette is multifaceted with nuances of black cherries, elegant spices and a subtle mineral note.

This wine was carefully crafted and aged in oak barrels, giving it an impressive structure and a perfect balance between fruit, tannins and acidity.

Domaine Taupenot - Merme

Virginie and Romain have revived a sleeping giant.

The siblings Virginie and Romain Taupenot cultivate over 13 hectares with 19 appellations from Auxey-Duressees in the south to Gevrey-Chambertin in the north of the Côte d'Or, producing a range that is as diverse as it is qualitatively homogeneous. Since the beginning of the millennium, organic farming without labels has revived a wine region that was born in 1974 from the union of the two owner families and that has since then awaited the passionate commitment of the current generation of owners to revive the full potential of the highly sought-after plots, in particular Mazoyères-Chambertin and Charmes Chambertin in the Grand Cru.
