wine description

Elegant strawberry with butterscotch.

A sparkling ruby red with subtle garnet nuances dominates the appearance of this Pinot Noir. The clear, brilliant color reflects the elegance of the wine and indicates a delicate structure and fruity intensity.

The nose is dominated by ripe red fruits such as strawberries and cherries, complemented by subtle oak notes of butter and caramel. Earthy aromas such as mushroom and leather, paired with a fine floral nuance of violet, round off the bouquet.

On the palate, the wine shows a perfect balance of fruit and spice. The red fruit notes harmonize with delicate wood nuances and earthy elements. The fine tannins and lively acidity provide freshness, while the long finish demonstrates elegance and finesse.

This Pinot Noir is grown in the Premier Cru Auxey-Duresses, where calcareous soils and a temperate climate create optimal conditions. Aging in French oak barrels increases complexity and gives the wine a harmonious structure with subtle roasted aromas.

Domaine Taupenot - Merme

Virginie and Romain have revived a sleeping giant.

The siblings Virginie and Romain Taupenot cultivate over 13 hectares with 19 appellations from Auxey-Duressees in the south to Gevrey-Chambertin in the north of the Côte d'Or, producing a range that is as diverse as it is qualitatively homogeneous. Since the beginning of the millennium, organic farming without labels has revived a wine region that was born in 1974 from the union of the two owner families and that has since then awaited the passionate commitment of the current generation of owners to revive the full potential of the highly sought-after plots, in particular Mazoyères-Chambertin and Charmes Chambertin in the Grand Cru.
