Fresh honeydew melon with yellow plum.
In the glass, the Gelber Muskateller shimmers in a clear, radiant gold tone with delicate greenish reflections that indicate its freshness and youthfulness. The lively color is an indicator of the aromatic expression of this semi-dry wine.
Aromatically, the Muscat unfolds a lively fragrance palette of fresh rose and violet notes, accompanied by nuances of ripe honeydew melon and yellow plum. A subtle hint of minerality gives the nose structure and a slightly earthy character.
On the palate, the wine shows a harmonious balance of light sweetness and well-integrated acidity. The aromas of honeydew melon and yellow plum merge with a hint of lemon and minerality, which round off the taste experience with a fine finish.
The combination of mild climate and mineral-rich soils makes this Muscat special. The semi-dry aging underlines the fruit and floral nuances and preserves the freshness, creating a lively wine with an unmistakable terroir character.
Success story of the Lemberger-Haus: From the medieval cradle of grape varieties to the VDP top company.
The Graf Neipperg winery in Württemberg is an outstanding winery that has been owned by the Neipperg winegrowing family since the 15th century. The wine-growing tradition on the count's land in the region dates back to the 8th century. With over 30 hectares of vineyards in top locations such as the "Neipperger Schloßberg" and the "Schwaigerner Ruthe", the winery now produces first-class wines, including complex Lemberger, which the Counts of Neipperg brought to the region, Trollinger, juicy and elegant Schwarzrieslings and mineral-dense Rieslings. The winery is a member of the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP) and has received numerous awards, including 4 grapes from Gault Millau. The traditional vinification in the vaulted cellar and the special management of steep slopes contribute to the top quality. Under the management of Philipp Erbgraf zu Neipperg and Karl Eugen Graf von Neipperg, the winery stands for proven traditions, coupled with modern winemaking and an impressive overall performance.
Purely genetically, the Blaufränkisch and Lemberger grape varieties are the same. Since there is currently a Blaufränkisch hype going through the German wine world, the winemakers of Württemberg discussed changing the name Lemberger to Blaufränkisch. In the end, they stuck with the original - Württemberg remains Lemberger-Land.
