Fine mineral wild strawberry with smoky forest floor.
A deep ruby red gives this wine an impressive elegance and depth in the glass.
The nose is pampered by a fragrant blend of smoky nuances, forest floor and leather, accompanied by subtle hints of red fruits and fine wood.
The mouthfeel is well structured with well-formed tannins, accompanied by a fine minerality. The flavor palette is extremely balanced, with an elegant blend of red fruits and subtle wood.
This wine is characterized by careful development and cultivation. The grapes come from an exclusive winery in Württemberg, where tradition and the most modern vinification techniques go hand in hand to create a wine of incomparable quality.
The Graf Neipperg winery, founded in 1248 in Schwaigern, Germany, represents a 750-year-old winemaking tradition. Under Karl Eugen Erbgraf zu Neipperg, the winery focuses on natural and sustainable winemaking. Graf Neipperg impresses with Grand Crus, strong red wines, mineral Rieslings and sophisticated white wines, and embodies tradition, nobility and artisanal perfection.
Success story of the Lemberger-Haus: From the medieval cradle of grape varieties to the VDP top company.
The Graf Neipperg winery in Württemberg is an outstanding winery that has been owned by the Neipperg winegrowing family since the 15th century. The wine-growing tradition on the count's land in the region dates back to the 8th century. With over 30 hectares of vineyards in top locations such as the "Neipperger Schloßberg" and the "Schwaigerner Ruthe", the winery now produces first-class wines, including complex Lemberger, which the Counts of Neipperg brought to the region, Trollinger, juicy and elegant Schwarzrieslings and mineral-dense Rieslings. The winery is a member of the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP) and has received numerous awards, including 4 grapes from Gault Millau. The traditional vinification in the vaulted cellar and the special management of steep slopes contribute to the top quality. Under the management of Philipp Erbgraf zu Neipperg and Karl Eugen Graf von Neipperg, the winery stands for proven traditions, coupled with modern winemaking and an impressive overall performance.
Purely genetically, the Blaufränkisch and Lemberger grape varieties are the same. Since there is currently a Blaufränkisch hype going through the German wine world, the winemakers of Württemberg discussed changing the name Lemberger to Blaufränkisch. In the end, they stuck with the original - Württemberg remains Lemberger-Land.
