This wine is the result of masterful vinification, shaped by the unique location in the Okanagan Valley. The use of old and young wooden barrels creates a balanced structure and an incomparable play of aromas. The grapes thrive in perfect harmony with nature, giving the wine an unmistakable characteristic.

No matter which aspect of winemaking one picks out or which external factor one considers, John Skinner uncompromisingly implements his plan for the best possible wine quality with Painted Rock. No detail is overlooked. For example, the valuable soil of the existing peach orchard was not bulldozed away, but each tree stump was individually removed before vines were planted. And the Syrah was planted where a cool airflow through a small gorge creates the perfect microclimate. The list of examples is endless.
