wine description

Velvety raspberry with deep cocoa.

In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red with shimmering garnet reflections. The wine has a medium color intensity that signals elegance and finesse. The clear structure indicates gentle development and a careful hand in vinification.

Aromas of raspberries and strawberries unfold on the nose, complemented by subtle hints of mushrooms and damp forest floors. A hint of citrus freshness and gentle notes of oak and cocoa give this Burgundy additional depth and complexity.

The wine is velvety and harmonious on the palate with a lively acidity. The fine tannins are perfectly integrated and offer an elegant structure. A delicate spiciness and mineral notes round off the taste profile and lead to a long, fresh finish.

Domaine Taupenot-Merme uses organically managed vineyards in Auxey-Duresses to perfectly combine terroir and elegance. Aging in carefully selected oak barrels gives the wine its characteristic balance of freshness, depth and a delicate woody note.

Domaine Taupenot - Merme

Virginie and Romain have revived a sleeping giant.

The siblings Virginie and Romain Taupenot cultivate over 13 hectares with 19 appellations from Auxey-Duressees in the south to Gevrey-Chambertin in the north of the Côte d'Or, producing a range that is as diverse as it is qualitatively homogeneous. Since the beginning of the millennium, organic farming without labels has revived a wine region that was born in 1974 from the union of the two owner families and that has since then awaited the passionate commitment of the current generation of owners to revive the full potential of the highly sought-after plots, in particular Mazoyères-Chambertin and Charmes Chambertin in the Grand Cru.
