wine description

Aromatic black cherry with berry cinnamon.

The Mazoyères Chambertin Grand Cru 2016 presents itself in deep ruby red with shimmering violet reflections, which indicates its youth and concentration.

Its aromatic bouquet combines seductive notes of ripe raspberries, black cherries and a hint of violet, enveloped by subtle nuances of cinnamon and earthy undergrowth.

On the palate, an impressive fullness unfolds, accompanied by silky tannins. The taste is complex and deep, with intense aromas of red fruits, complemented by fine spicy notes and a long, elegant finish.

This Grand Cru matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, achieving a perfect balance between fruitiness and oak spice. The maturation period gives the wine structure and elegance.

Domaine Taupenot - Merme

Virginie and Romain have revived a sleeping giant.

The siblings Virginie and Romain Taupenot cultivate over 13 hectares with 19 appellations from Auxey-Duressees in the south to Gevrey-Chambertin in the north of the Côte d'Or, producing a range that is as diverse as it is qualitatively homogeneous. Since the beginning of the millennium, organic farming without labels has revived a wine region that was born in 1974 from the union of the two owner families and that has since then awaited the passionate commitment of the current generation of owners to revive the full potential of the highly sought-after plots, in particular Mazoyères-Chambertin and Charmes Chambertin in the Grand Cru.
