Syrah

je 100ml
wine description

Dark plum with black pepper.

This Syrah shows a deep, vibrant purple with light violet reflections. The intense, dense color signals power and structure in the glass and suggests an extraordinary aromatic depth that characterizes the wine.

The bouquet reveals aromas of black pepper and clove, accompanied by dark fruits such as plum and blackberry. Earthy notes of smoke and leather, framed by a hint of violet, give this Syrah a spicy, complex profile.

Dry and gently tannic, this wine impresses with its velvety texture and balanced acidity. The dark fruit notes and peppery spice blend harmoniously and lead into a long, intense finish that offers pure elegance and depth.

The aging in French oak gives the wine subtle wood aromas and supports its complex structure. The mineral-rich soils and cool climate of the Wairarapa region offer Syrah grapes ideal ripening conditions and promote a slow concentration of aromas - this Syrah is a masterpiece of terroir.

Schubert Wines

They emigrated to New Zealand because it has the perfect conditions for cool climate Pinot Noir.

At the end of his school days in the Swabian town of Waiblingen, Kai Schubert already knew two things for sure: "Pinot Noir is my passion" and "I want to be a winemaker". No sooner said than done. After completing his viticulture studies in Geisenheim, the career changer began a worldwide search for the right place for a winery with the best conditions for Pinot Noir - and he chose New Zealand. In 1998, Kai emigrated to New Zealand with his partner Marion, who also became a winemaker. In Martinborough, in the very south of New Zealand's North Island, the two began planting vines on 14 hectares and realizing their dream of owning their own winery. In 2003, the first wines from Schubert Wines finally came onto the market. The success story begins...
