Black Edition Tinto 2018

Black Edition Tinto
Black Edition Tinto

Ripe blackberry with light hints of pepper.
In the glass, the Black Edition Tinto shimmers in a tempting crimson red.
Ripe fruit can be smelled on the nose: cherry, blackberry, paired with light nuances of pepper.
The first sip is elegant and fresh. The tannins are barely noticeable due to the fruit, but provide a very balanced structure and a pleasant mouthfeel.
This wine consists of many different grape varieties - the mixed set. The grapes are pressed with the feet and thus only lightly crushed so that enough juice is released for fermentation.
Family history to drink: Grandfather Pôpa's lifelong dream was to have his own winery in the Douro Valley. His descendants are making this dream come true.
The young Pôpa worked in the vineyards of the Douro Valley in the oldest protected wine-growing region in the world. The proud man was passionately convinced of the quality and uniqueness of the wines. Pôpa dreamed of owning his own winery. It was only after his death that this dream came true and in 2003 his son Zeca bought the first 9 hectares of vineyards in the Douro Valley: these included renowned but also new locations. Together with his children Vanessa and Stéphane and the winemaker and king of the Baga grape, Luis Pato, he built the Quinta do Pôpa winery in honour of his father. In 2010 he handed it over to the capable hands of his children, who look after the family legacy with care and devotion.
