KAI Pinot Noir

je 100ml
wine description

Round strawberry with spicy raspberry.

The KAI Pinot Noir 2016 presents itself in a deep, seductive ruby red that shimmers in the glass and reflects its concentrated nature.

The nose is enchanted by delicate notes of red berries, especially juicy strawberries and ripe raspberries. Nuances of vanilla and a hint of spices round off the aromatic bouquet.

An elegant mouthfeel unfolds on the palate, accompanied by silky tannins. The taste is characterized by fruity fullness, supported by fine wood notes and a perfectly balanced acidity.

This Pinot Noir was carefully aged for 30 months in selected oak barrels, intensifying its structure and complexity while allowing the subtle aromas to unfold harmoniously.

After completing his viticulture studies in Geisenheim, the career changer began a worldwide search for the right place for a winery with the best conditions for Pinot Noir - and he chose New Zealand. In 1998, Kai emigrated to New Zealand with his partner Marion, who also became a winemaker. In Martinborough, in the very south of New Zealand's North Island, the two began planting vines on 14 hectares and realizing their dream of owning their own winery. In 2003, the first wines from Schubert Wines finally came onto the market. The success story begins...
