Sand Point Chardonnay 2022
Sand Point Chardonnay
Sand Point Chardonnay
Pear fruit bomb with vanilla creaminess.
Bright yellow with golden reflections and brilliant clarity in the glass. The wine displays a clean, medium density and appears calm and composed. No opulence, but a controlled, classic appearance, focusing on balance and ripeness, with visible concentration and clear contour.
On the nose: pure pear. Not a crisp pear that has just fallen from the tree - but a juicy and overripe pear. This is accompanied by a tropical fruit note with green apple. Aromas of vanilla and toffee nestle up to the fruit.
On the palate: a juicy and full body with a good oak aroma: nutty vanilla and a hint of caramel. A fine acid structure ensures a tremendous drinking flow. An exciting wine that is also easy to enjoy: one glass is definitely not enough.
Sand Point is a renaturation project by the Lange Twins - a large area of the Mokelumne River's banks was re-stocked with native flora and fauna and, so to speak, released into the wild. This wild nature provides the natural support for the exciting Sand Point wine.
Sustainable viticulture and understanding for animals and the environment are the top priority.
The twins Brad and Randall are the fourth generation to live and cultivate the vineyards in the Californian wine-growing region of Lodi. Then they took a big step and founded their own winery. Lange Twins was born. Sustainable winegrowing and understanding for animals and the environment were the top priority, as was family cohesion. Since then, fantastic wines from California have been produced here, red wines such as Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, a Sangiovese rosé wine and white wines such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The next generation of the family, Joe Lange, has now taken over responsibility.
