Sancerre Pur 2023
Sancerre Pur
Sancerre Pur
Crisp apple with exotic straw.
In the glass, a clear, pale yellow with silver and slightly greenish reflections appears. The color seems cool and precise, without any heaviness. Fine, even streaks indicate substance. Visually, a Sancerre that calmly conveys clarity, freshness, and origin.
The nose is dominated by citrus, green apple, and white peach, accompanied by elderflower and a hint of fresh herbs. Flint and wet limestone add a cool, mineral accent. The aromatics remain straightforward, clean, and deliberately understated, with clear Sauvignon typicity.
On the palate, this wine is lively and dry with a perfectly balanced acidity and a healthy hint of minerality.
Carefully selected Sauvignon Blanc grapes from the vineyards in the Sancerre region are gently vinified to bring out the characteristic aromas and freshness of the terroir. Lots of minerality!
The rebirth of a vineyard - a story of brothers and friends.
The Fleuriet family has been involved in agriculture in Sancerre since the 18th century. In recent years, the father, Bernard Fleuriet, has been particularly influential in shaping the wine style with his own business. He is raising his sons as young winemakers, allowing them to learn and develop their own language.
In 2014, a unique opportunity presented itself to the two winemakers - a good friend of the family, Stéphane Marchand, became seriously ill and asked the brothers for their help. They were to bring their innovative knowledge and love of sustainability to the Marchand family's vineyards. The rebirth of the fallow land in the middle of Sancerre began. What began as a project solidified and became permanent: Renaissance was born. The two brothers started out solo.
The brothers Benoit and Mathieu quickly realized that their hearts beat for more than just Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre. They are working towards the great goal of absolute sustainability. They mastered the first stage as an organic winery in 2019. It was only since the 2021 vintage that they were allowed to call themselves biodynamic, another milestone.
The conversion is complete - the vineyards have been reborn. Now we can celebrate with fine Sancerre wines that reflect the special terroir of the Loire wine region with their strong character and nobility.
