Weinbeschreibung

Zesty Lemon Croissant with Salted Butter.

In the glass, it shimmers like liquid gold with platinum reflections – dense, but not heavy. The light refracts with precision, as if on wet stone. Streaks on the rim of the glass reveal: This is a wine of substance and tension, no trivial sunshine Chardonnay.

The nose picks up a delicate perfume of toasted almonds, citrus peel, and salted butter – like a lemon croissant on a rock by the sea. Behind this are tropical notes of pineapple and ripe peach, intertwined with wet limestone, white flowers, and a hint of vanilla.

Creamy on the palate, but with backbone – like silk with a spine. The wine stretches a delicate acid framework over its buttery-soft fruit. Lemon and ripe yellow fruits meet smoky minerality, all with the grip of a pebble that could strike a match.

A classic single-vineyard wine from the heart of Puligny-Montrachet: the Les Nosroyes parcel provides a lime-driven depth, while aging in partly new oak shapes finesse rather than power. Not a oak bomb, but a Burgundy that balances on a fine edge – precise, pure, and damn serious.

Domaine Jean Fery

Burgundy's natural diversity in a glass – cherished worldwide for generations.

The roots of Domaine Jean Féry date back to the 19th century, when the family cultivated not only wine but also currants in the Burgundian village of Échevronne (Side Note: Legend has it that these black currants once formed part of the perfume icon Chanel No. 5). In 1980, Marcelle and Jean Féry founded the winery under their own name, and their son Jean-Louis Féry took over in 1988. With great passion, he expanded the family winery with new vineyards and modern cellar technology. Today, the vineyards cover about 14 hectares – spread across numerous renowned appellations from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte Chalonnaise. The winery has been organic certified since 2011. In the cellar, the team relies on traditional methods, carefully tending to the wines and avoiding unnecessary technology. Jean-Louis' motto is simple: "Quality is priceless." The next generation is already at the helm: his sons Frédéric and Laurent continue to run the Domaine with the same passion. You can taste all of this in every bottle – Burgundy to fall in love with, honest and unadulterated.
