Dark cherry meets bittersweet chocolate.

In the glass, a deep ruby red, almost opaque, with a black core and a violet rim. The wine appears compact, almost mysterious. When swirled, dense "church windows" slowly stream down the glass wall – a visual promise of density, ripeness, and substance.

Even with the first sniff, dark cherry comes to the fore, followed by ripe blackberries, cedarwood, and a hint of violets. Beneath lies a balsamic-spicy depth with nuances of tobacco, dark chocolate, and wet earth. No off-the-shelf scent – this one has character.

In the mouth, the Lampyris is full-bodied, with gripping yet ripe tannins – like a firm handshake in leather. The fruit remains dark and concentrated, supported by mineral depth and a delicate bitter note. Long, warm, authoritative – a wine with real backbone.

The grapes come from organically farmed, high-calcium soils – harvested late, when the berries are almost overripe. Spontaneously fermented, aged 24 months in barriques & large oak barrels, unfiltered. This wine is not a spectacle – it is a testament to hands-on craftsmanship with an understanding of nature.

After completing his studies, the young Marco Caiaffa takes over his father's vineyards and converts everything to organic. His five siblings and millions of insects help him with his work.

After studying to become a winemaker, the young Marco Caiaffa has a vision. He wants to convert his father's vineyards to organic production and thus become a pioneer in his region. Until then, his father had sold his grapes to the local cooperative. Those days are over: Marco doesn't sell grapes, he sells his own aromatic wines. With his wines, he celebrates biodiversity like no other. For Marco, insects are the best indicator of biodiversity and successful organic viticulture. His labels are a tribute to them: fireflies, millipedes, dragonflies and many more... His five siblings support him in the vineyard and in the cellar. The whole Caiaffa family believes with Marco.
