Powerful apricot with balanced apple.
The wine is a brilliant golden yellow with bright reflections that emphasize its freshness and liveliness. When swirling the glass, thick streaks appear, indicating the high viscosity and intense character of the wine.
Powerful, spicy and mineral aromas dominate the nose. More subtle notes of custard apple, nutmeg and various pomme fruits complement the bouquet. A hint of citrus fruits gives the wine additional freshness and complexity.
An intense, ripe and rich texture unfolds on the palate. The wine impresses with its strong minerality and a present acidity that is in perfect balance with the fruity aromas of apple, peach and apricot. A long, elegant finish rounds off the taste experience.
The grapes grow on steep slate slopes of the Mosel, which gives the wine its distinctive minerality. The careful vinification and gentle maturation in stainless steel tanks and partly in wooden barrels emphasize the natural aromas and elegant structure of the Riesling.
Masterful Mosel Rieslings, characterized by tradition, terroir and an unmistakable winemaker philosophy
The Heymann-Löwenstein winery, founded in 1980 by Reinhard Löwenstein and Cornelia Heymann-Löwenstein in Winningen, is a pioneer in the Moselle region. The roots of winegrowing in the Löwenstein family go back to the 16th century. Today the winery covers around 15 hectares, almost entirely planted with Riesling vines. The wines are produced on slate soils that are over 400 million years old and reflect the diversity of these unique terroirs. Reinhard Löwenstein, often referred to as the "slate whisperer", attaches great importance to the authenticity of his wines. Spontaneous fermentation, long maceration and careful vinification in large wooden barrels characterize the wines, which are known for their complexity and depth.
