Citrus freshness with a hint of slate.

In the glass, a rich golden yellow with lively, finely rising effervescence is revealed. The mousse appears powerful and precise, almost like a steady stream of tiny bubbles, bringing energy to the glass. A Riesling Sekt with substance, its color already hints at depth and maturity.

The nose is clear and precise. Lemon, ripe apple and a hint of quince meet cool slate minerality. Notes of brioche, a little honey, and a delicate scent of wet stone join in. It’s like a Mosel Riesling with bottle fermentation in a tailor-made suit.

The palate is taut and vibrant. The perlage grips precisely, while apple, citrus zest, and mineral spice define the aromatic interplay. The acidity takes hold like a tightly stretched wire, providing tension and freshness. The finish leaves a peppery, slate-influenced aftertaste that lingers long.

This Riesling sparkling wine bears the hallmark of the Terrassenmosel. Steep slate slopes yield concentrated, mineral-rich grapes that bring structure and tension to the glass. The classic bottle fermentation combines Riesling freshness with depth. The result is a sparkling wine that is more reminiscent of a great wine than a mere aperitif.

The Heymann-Löwenstein winery, founded in 1980 by Reinhard Löwenstein and Cornelia Heymann-Löwenstein in Winningen, is a pioneer in the Moselle region. The roots of winegrowing in the Löwenstein family go back to the 16th century. Today the winery covers around 15 hectares, almost entirely planted with Riesling vines. The wines are produced on slate soils that are over 400 million years old and reflect the diversity of these unique terroirs. Reinhard Löwenstein, often referred to as the "slate whisperer", attaches great importance to the authenticity of his wines. Spontaneous fermentation, long maceration and careful vinification in large wooden barrels characterize the wines, which are known for their complexity and depth.
