Château de la Terrière
Parisian favorite wines with lots of terroir.
The venerable Château de la Terrière is a symbol of traditional, classic top-quality wines from the Beaujolais wine region, which is particularly popular in Paris. Here, Grégory produces terroir wines of the highest quality.

The soil of Beaujolais guarantees fantastic Gamay wines. Grégory and his colleagues cultivate their traditional heritage with a passion for popular classics.
The Château de la Terrière has dominated the Beaujolais region since the 16th century. It was once built to protect the Queen of France, who had her roots in the region (more precisely in Beaujeu). In the heart of Burgundy's Beaujolais region is this hub for the classic terroir wines of Grégory Barbet and his colleagues.
Grégory's father bought the castle and lands 20 years ago and, like his son, devoted himself to the region's classic: Gamay. The grape variety, whose only relevant epicenter is the Beaujolais region, offers a brilliant stage for the expressiveness of the soil like no other. The mineral soils are particularly characterized by granite, which gives the fruity, sun-drenched but light wine a unique note. The wines of Beaujolais once had a comparable status to the Pinot Noirs from Gevrey Chambertin.
Grégory, who is also the owner of the Domaine de la Pirolette in the Cru Saint Amour, focuses on classic wine styles with a love of quality, terroir and sustainability. While Beaujolais has a special status among wine connoisseurs in Germany, his wines are snatched from his hands by the wider Parisian public.
The beginning has been made.
Grégory and his colleagues attach great importance to the health of their noble vines. They have set themselves the great task of producing the popular wines in a stable manner using classic methods. At the same time, they are switching to organic wine. A third of the vineyards will be certified organic by 2023. The beginning has been made.
Trust as the most important currency
Over 50 additives can be used in wine production, none of which have to be listed on the label. Mass-produced and cheap wines are flooding the market with artificially produced smells, appearances and tastes. The security of holding an HONEST product in your hand is therefore our top priority.
