Punchy lemon with creamy, silky pineapple.

In the glass, it presents itself in a subdued golden yellow with a greenish shimmer – like a ray of sunshine breaking through cool autumn air. Clear and brilliant, with a delicate play of viscosity that hints at its substance without being obtrusive.

The aroma spans the arch between Burgundy classicism and excitement: Warm notes of toasted hazelnut, crème brûlée, and vanilla meet fresh lemon, wet chalk, a hint of mushroom and some mint. Ripe pear and a touch of pineapple dance in the background.

Powerful but not fat. The texture glides across the palate like silk – with a slight oiliness that is repeatedly cut through by vibrant acidity. Citrus freshness and stone fruit mingle with subtle spice, a hint of butter, and a fine salty kick on the finish.

A Premier Cru from the cooler northern tip of the Côte de Beaune. Vergelesses is located on an east-facing slope with a high limestone content – perfect for Chardonnay with tension. It is aged traditionally in barriques with a sensitive touch: no oak storm, but targeted refinement.

The roots of Domaine Jean Féry date back to the 19th century, when the family cultivated not only wine but also currants in the Burgundian village of Échevronne (Side Note: Legend has it that these black currants once formed part of the perfume icon Chanel No. 5). In 1980, Marcelle and Jean Féry founded the winery under their own name, and their son Jean-Louis Féry took over in 1988. With great passion, he expanded the family winery with new vineyards and modern cellar technology. Today, the vineyards cover about 14 hectares – spread across numerous renowned appellations from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte Chalonnaise. The winery has been organic certified since 2011. In the cellar, the team relies on traditional methods, carefully tending to the wines and avoiding unnecessary technology. Jean-Louis' motto is simple: "Quality is priceless." The next generation is already at the helm: his sons Frédéric and Laurent continue to run the Domaine with the same passion. You can taste all of this in every bottle – Burgundy to fall in love with, honest and unadulterated.
