Weinbeschreibung

Ripe Williams pear with salty lemon zest.

Shines like freshly polished brass in the glass – a rich, golden-yellow hue with a slight greenish shimmer at the rim. Clear and dense, with leisurely "church windows" – the first glance promises power, maturity, and structure. A Chardonnay with composure, not rush.

Ripe yellow fruits such as Williams pear and mirabelle plum set the tone, flanked by salty lemon zest, wet stone, and a hint of fennel green. With aeration, subtle roasted aromas emerge – like roasted hazelnut on warm baguette. Elegantly interwoven, never loud, always multi-layered.

It packs creamy density but remains light-footed due to its vibrant acidity. The fruit is juicy but never overt – more like a candied peach served on a salt stone. A fine, mineral grip extends into the long, elegant finish.

The "Champs de Morjot" comes from a renowned single vineyard with a high proportion of limestone and barren clay-loam soil. Hand harvest, spontaneous fermentation, aging in pièce – partly in new wood, the rest in used barrels. The result: finesse instead of fat. Character instead of makeup.

Domaine Jean Fery

Burgundy's natural diversity in a glass – cherished worldwide for generations.

The roots of Domaine Jean Féry date back to the 19th century, when the family cultivated not only wine but also currants in the Burgundian village of Échevronne (Side Note: Legend has it that these black currants once formed part of the perfume icon Chanel No. 5). In 1980, Marcelle and Jean Féry founded the winery under their own name, and their son Jean-Louis Féry took over in 1988. With great passion, he expanded the family winery with new vineyards and modern cellar technology. Today, the vineyards cover about 14 hectares – spread across numerous renowned appellations from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte Chalonnaise. The winery has been organic certified since 2011. In the cellar, the team relies on traditional methods, carefully tending to the wines and avoiding unnecessary technology. Jean-Louis' motto is simple: "Quality is priceless." The next generation is already at the helm: his sons Frédéric and Laurent continue to run the Domaine with the same passion. You can taste all of this in every bottle – Burgundy to fall in love with, honest and unadulterated.
