The winery

Casa de Uco is a winery where you can immediately tell: it is 100% about quality, coupled with a clear philosophy.

We were looking for a special family winery in Argentina's Mendoza wine region. We found it in the Uco Valley. And how: a designer winery, a dream hotel, regional cuisine, and outstanding wines. The young team around winemaker Gustavo Bauza and Alberto Antonini has a clear plan and an unshakeable philosophy. Time Magazine selected Casa de Uco as one of "The World's Greatest Places" in 2021. No more words needed...

Wineboy instead of cowboy.

The combination of modernity and tradition works perfectly here at Casa de Uco. The vines are cultivated and the wines are made according to current standards and the latest technology. At the same time, the vineyards are checked by horse and the harvest is picked by hand. Some wines are already "organic", and more will follow.

The altitude ensures a pleasant, cooler climate and slower and therefore more complex ripening of the grapes. What makes the Uco Valley different, however, is not the climate, but the soil. In some places, the soil is so different that the vines in a row have to be harvested at different times. The vines sometimes have to struggle more and sometimes less through the soil, which is sometimes very stony and sometimes very sandy. This ensures different ripening processes and, in turn, more complex wines. So far, 60 different types of soil have been discovered in the Uco Valley, which alternate every few meters.
