The winery

Sustainable viticulture and understanding for animals and the environment are the top priority.

The twins Brad and Randall are the fourth generation to live and cultivate the vineyards in the Californian wine-growing region of Lodi. Then they took a big step and founded their own winery. Lange Twins was born. Sustainable winegrowing and understanding for animals and the environment were the top priority, as was family cohesion. Since then, fantastic wines from California have been produced here, red wines such as Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, a Sangiovese rosé wine and white wines such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The next generation of the family, Joe Lange, has now taken over responsibility.

Sandpoint.

“We believe the land belongs just as much to the native wildlife as it belongs to us.” Nestled between vineyards and the Mokelumne River lies Sandpoint, a sandbank along the river. As small children, the twins often played here all summer long. It is precisely because of their connection to this part of the world that the two are particularly careful not to harm nature, but to practice sustainable viticulture. It all began with the planting of oak trees and bushes as a place of refuge for all kinds of animals and insects. Breeding areas for wild ducks were installed and no deer-repelling measures were taken, as the Lange family believes that the deer only take their share.

"A good wine is created in the vineyard. We make our decisions with this mindset and a focus on sustainability."

The location

Almost like the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The Lodi wine-growing region is located in the national appellation of California. The region takes its name from the city of Lodi. As early as the 19th century, settlers found wild vines along the San Joaquin River. Since then, this region has developed into an important growing area for high-quality wines. The temperatures correspond to those of southern European growing regions with warm summers and greater fluctuations between day and night temperatures. The soils are mostly loamy and mixed with large pebbles. Almost like the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
