Barolo Bricco San Pietro 2017
Barolo Bricco San Pietro
Barolo Bricco San Pietro
Red raspberry with spicy plum.
In the glass, it is deep ruby red, tending towards garnet, with a slightly orange rim, clear and concentrated, compact. The color does not appear heavy, rather calmly self-assured. Dense, slowly running streaks show extract and ripeness, without the wine appearing overloaded.
Aromas of red fruits such as cherry, raspberry and plum fill our noses. Cooked fruits and a racy spiciness from elegant barrique aromas form the aromatic highlight.
On the palate, the tannin is soft and velvety. Paired with the strong, crisp core, it stimulates interest and the imagination. Not least thanks to the flattering finish with incredibly wonderful depth, the wine leaves plenty of room for dreams and passion. A great wine.
The wine is 100% Nebbiolo from Monforte d’Alba, from the Bricco San Pietro cru, cultivated sustainably according to SQNPI standards. After about 15 days of maceration, it ages for around 30 months in large French oak barrels. This explains its barrique spice and refined structure.
Independence that resonates – although there are big names right in the neighborhood, the Pressendas concentrate completely on their own path.
Monforte d'Alba in the province of Cuneo is located in the heart of Piedmont. The famous towns of Alba and Barolo are only 20 and 5 kilometers away respectively. Diego Pressenda's 15 hectares of vineyards are beautifully situated and produce mainly Piedmontese grapes such as Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo but also Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir.
