Barolo Barbadelchi 2021
Barolo Barbadelchi
Barolo Barbadelchi
Cherry licorice with Funghi Porcini.
In the glass, a clear garnet red with brick-red reflections at the rim, typical for mature Barolo from La Morra. The color appears transparent, not thin, but controlled and calm. Not a dark block, but depth with air and movement.
The typical liquorice and black cherry aromas reach our nose. But also aromas of leather, tobacco and blackcurrant resonate. We perceive a small nuance of porcini mushrooms.
The tannins are very soft and round. They give the wine a graceful and elegant character, which nevertheless brings with it a certain amount of pressure. The acidity is fresh and present. The finish: very long and enjoyable.
The grapes come from the single vineyard Barbadelchi in La Morra, characterized by calcareous soils and classic Nebbiolo exposure. Traditional vinification with long maceration and aging in large wooden barrels. It is precisely this restraint in the cellar that allows the origin, structure, and ripeness to speak calmly and unadulterated.
Independence that resonates – although there are big names right in the neighborhood, the Pressendas concentrate completely on their own path.
Monforte d'Alba in the province of Cuneo is located in the heart of Piedmont. The famous towns of Alba and Barolo are only 20 and 5 kilometers away respectively. Diego Pressenda's 15 hectares of vineyards are beautifully situated and produce mainly Piedmontese grapes such as Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo but also Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir.
