Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru

Weinbeschreibung

Berry black fruit with spicy truffle.

Taupenot-Merme's Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru presents itself with an impressive garnet color, indicating the wine's mature development. In the glass, it shimmers in a deep, velvety red.

The nose is enchanted by complex aromas of black fruits, dried violets and a subtle spiciness. A hint of leather and tobacco gives the bouquet an additional refinement.

A harmonious fusion of ripe tannins and lively acidity unfolds on the palate. Flavors of dark chocolate, wild berries and a hint of truffle characterize the long-lasting finish.

This Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru underwent a careful vinification and matured for years in oak barrels. The aging period gives the wine an elegant structure and a remarkable development in the glass.

Domaine Taupenot - Merme

Virginie and Romain have revived a sleeping giant.

The siblings Virginie and Romain Taupenot cultivate over 13 hectares with 19 appellations from Auxey-Duressees in the south to Gevrey-Chambertin in the north of the Côte d'Or, producing a range that is as diverse as it is qualitatively homogeneous. Since the beginning of the millennium, organic farming without labels has revived a wine region that was born in 1974 from the union of the two owner families and that has since then awaited the passionate commitment of the current generation of owners to revive the full potential of the highly sought-after plots, in particular Mazoyères-Chambertin and Charmes Chambertin in the Grand Cru.
