In der ersten Nase riecht man das Gestein: Kiesel und Mineralik. Langsam kommt eine klare rote Frucht dazu: Dunkle Kirsche mit einer griffigen Würze wie von weißem Pfeffer.
Im Mund ist Saint Amour sehr saftig. Die Tannine geben die Struktur vor und sorgen für eine ausgesprochen schöne Harmonie. Und genau da setzt der Trinkfluss ein, der Dich viel Spaß an diesem Wein haben lässt.
The new generation in traditional Beaujolais
Winegrowing seems to have had a home in Saint Amour since time immemorial. Not only is the dreamy village part of Burgundy, but also part of Beaujolais. A few decades ago, the slightly sparkling wine from Beaujolais had a bad reputation, but since the new generation has come along, it is clear that those days are over.
Grégory Barbet and his sisters took over the reins of the winery in 2013 and do not produce on a mass scale. Their goal: to arouse emotions through tangible terroir. Easy to say, but that is precisely why real professionals are needed at work, such as the likeable Grégory Barbet. He has his winery on the ridge near the church of Saint Amour. The building itself dates back to 1600 and takes its name from the small white flower that can be found here (German: moss eye).
