Herb apple with passionfruit.
In the glass, it appears crystal clear with a pale straw yellow and greenish reflections – like freshly pressed from a crisp apple. No hint of opulence, but rather puristic, cool, bell-clear. The first impression: freshness, precision, and a touch of understatement.
The nose is straightforward, direct, and focused. Gooseberry, freshly cut grass, and lime zest meet a cool chalkiness. Alongside these, delicate hints of kiwi and passion fruit – yet never boisterous, more like a tropical holiday with a north wind. Dry, herbaceous, slightly floral.
Taut like a tightrope on the palate. The acidity cuts a precise path, providing grip and length. Fruit? Clear and green: apple peel, lime, a hint of passion fruit. Accompanied by a salty minerality that almost makes it float. No fat, rather lean and well-trained.
The wine comes from sustainably managed vineyards in the North Palatinate. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, temperature-controlled, spontaneous fermentation. No wood, no make-up – just grape, terroir, and technique perfected. The result: uncompromisingly clean, precise, and sharply vinified.
