Pinot Noir Tradition 2023
Pinot Noir Tradition
Pinot Noir Tradition
Spicy strawberry with precise leather.
In the glass, a deep ruby red with delicate transparency at the rim – not a showy appearance, but a stylish, understated look. The light plays with raspberry-colored reflections, the wine forms fine "church windows" – a first hint of structure, depth, and elegance.
Red fruits like strawberry, sour cherry, and a hint of raspberry dance on the nose, flanked by smoky wood, dried thyme, and a touch of leather. An aroma reminiscent of an old hunting lodge – wild, yet refined. Subtly mineral, with a cool Palatinate earthiness.
On the palate, it's as precise as a razor, yet silky smooth. The fruit remains red and clear, supported by fine tannins with a slightly sandy grip – like sucking on a cherry pit. Fresh acidity elegantly pulls through, the finish is long, spicy, and chiseled.
Hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented, then aged for 12 months in small oak barrels – some new, some used. The grapes come from cool plots around Laumersheim with calcareous marl soils. The result: A Pinot Noir with Burgundian precision and Palatinate self-confidence.
