Pinot Noir Kirschgarten GG 2022
Pinot Noir Kirschgarten GG
Pinot Noir Kirschgarten GG
Powerful cherry with earthy flint.
In the glass, the Kirschgarten Pinot Noir shows a deep ruby red with a slightly transparent core – not heavily applied, but with inner tension. A hint of garnet shimmers at the rim, like an intimation of ripeness. Clear, precise, and focused.
The nose is an aromatic balancing act between dark nobility and smoky earthiness. Oak, tobacco, and coffee play with cherry fruit, leather, and flint. Raspberry, blood orange, and a hint of violets intermingle – fragrant like a sun-warmed forest floor after the rain.
On the palate, there is a noticeable grip without being scratchy – more like a bespoke suede suit. The fruit dances precisely, the acidity draws a clear line. The tannins are silky, the finish spicy, herb-fresh, a hint of smoke – elegant yet with a bite.
Aged for two years in barriques – 50% new, 50% used. The grapes come from the VDP.Große Lage Kirschgarten, a prime site in the Palatinate. Hand-picking, selection, precision – no coincidence, but meticulous craftsmanship. This wine is no ordinary Pinot, but pure character.
