wine description

Intense apricot with exotic spices.

A sparkling golden yellow with light amber reflections defines this Gewürztraminer. The dense color indicates an impressive abundance of aromas, while the brilliant clarity reflects the quality and care in production.

The bouquet captivates with exotic notes of pineapple and apricot, underlined with fine nuances of honey and liquorice. Warm, sweet accents such as honeydew melon and floral hints of elderflower give the aroma an impressive complexity.

On the palate, the wine is lush and soft with a balanced sweetness and well-integrated acidity. Tropical fruits and spicy notes blend harmoniously, while a long finish with honey and subtle spice emphasizes the elegance.

This Gewürztraminer comes from the Grand Cru Rosacker site, whose calcareous soils and sunny microclimate create ideal conditions. The gentle hand-picking and precise vinification preserve the intense aromas - a prime example of the Grand Cru class of Alsace.

Domaine David Ermel

Tradition as quality assurance.

The Ermel family can look back on an impressive history of winemaking. The craft has been passed down from father to son since 1795. Each generation brings something new, but much remains the same. In the cellar, the beautiful, old built-in tanks are looked after and the shaking table, on which the senior regularly shakes the champagne bottles, has certainly been in use for several decades. Here, David Ermel Senior turns the vintage Crémants by hand every day and adds jokingly: "My sons want me to be busy enough too." Traditionally, mainly white grape varieties are bottled here, but a small area of Pinot Noir is also cultivated.
