Rosacker Grand Cru Riesling 2019

Rosacker Grand Cru Riesling
Rosacker Grand Cru Riesling

Fully ripe peach with juicy grapefruit.
The Rosacker Grand Cru Riesling swings through the glass in a strong golden yellow.
The scent of ripe peach, juicy grapefruit, honey and a hint of petrol make the aromatic experience very exciting.
On the palate, the barren, mineral soil comes through in the form of austerity and taut acidity. The many hours of sunshine in Alsace, on the other hand, provide fullness and ripe fruit.
The vines grow on marlstone with a high lime content. The southeast orientation of the vineyards means there is plenty of sun here.
Tradition as quality assurance.
The Ermel family can look back on an impressive history of winemaking. The craft has been passed down from father to son since 1795. Each generation brings something new, but much remains the same. In the cellar, the beautiful, old built-in tanks are looked after and the shaking table, on which the senior regularly shakes the champagne bottles, has certainly been in use for several decades. Here, David Ermel Senior turns the vintage Crémants by hand every day and adds jokingly: "My sons want me to be busy enough too." Traditionally, mainly white grape varieties are bottled here, but a small area of Pinot Noir is also cultivated.
