Syrah 2020

Syrah
Syrah

Fully ripe blackberry with juicy pepper.
This wine presents itself in deep ruby red with impenetrable opacity, seductive and majestic in its appearance.
The bouquet of this wine unfolds an abundance of black fruits, especially blackberries and plums, accompanied by hints of oak, vanilla and a touch of tobacco.
In the mouth, it presents a pleasantly dry and powerful character. The aromas of pepper, liquorice and spices blend into a harmonious whole, accompanied by a silky texture.
The wine was aged for 18 months in 30% new wood. The new wood consisted of 80% French oak and 20% American oak. The remaining 70% of the Syrah was also stored in French oak barrels as a second use.
Painted Rock is featured in the best wine clubs in London and is still an insider tip in the rest of Europe. That won't be the case for much longer!
No matter what aspect of winemaking you choose or what external factor you consider, John Skinner's plan for the best possible wine quality at Painted Rock is uncompromising. No detail is overlooked. For example, the valuable soil of the existing peach orchard was not leveled, but each tree stump was removed individually before vines were planted. And the Syrah was planted where a cool air flow through a small ravine creates the perfect microclimate. The list of examples is endless.
