Vulcaia Fumé 2022
Vulcaia Fumé
Vulcaia Fumé
Structured grapefruit with exciting minerality.
In the glass, the wine sparkles in a rich golden yellow, almost shimmering amber – like liquid light poured over volcanic rock. Its brilliant clarity seems powerful and serene at once, as if the volcanic earth has transformed into quiet elegance.
Nothing pushes itself forward on the nose – and yet everything is there: delicate citrus notes, sweet elderflower, a hint of mango and wet stone after a summer rain. Plus a fine smoky trail like glowing volcanic rock – more landscape than fruit, more terroir than show.
On the palate, it's structured like Italian design—clear, angular, uncompromising. The minerality has grip, the citrus freshness draws precise lines. Smoky spice and exotic fruit remain present for a long time—like a deep echo from the rock that shaped this wine.
Not a classic Sauvignon Blanc, but a Mediterranean free spirit. The grapes grow on volcanic rock in Soave, aged in barrique, but without being overbearing. The result: a wine that celebrates not the grape variety, but the land on which it grows.
Northern Italian family tradition and modern methods at the Inama volcanic winery.
Inama Azienda Agricola was founded in the 1960s by Giuseppe Inama, who began acquiring small plots of land in the Soave Classico, a region known for its unique volcanic soils. Today the estate extends over 30 hectares and is run by the third generation of the Inama family. Giuseppe recognized early on the potential of the region to produce exceptional wines that impress with their mineral and floral character.
The winery now grows both red and white grape varieties. Originally known for its white Soave wines, Inama expanded its portfolio to include Sauvignon Blanc and, in the 1990s, red varieties such as Carmenère and Merlot. The family places great importance on caring for the vines and treating nature with respect in order to reflect the unique characteristics of the terroir in the wine. Today, the winery is run by son Stefano and grandchildren, Matteo, Luca and Alessio, who continue his vision with passion and a spirit of innovation.
