Stone fruit & slate smoke.

A rich golden yellow with subtle green reflections that almost glows in the glass. Its high brilliance and fine viscosity are testaments to its substance and maturity. This Riesling sparkles like polished slate in the sunlight – clear, precise, and with depth.

Intensely mineral – wet stone, smoke, almost a hint of iodine. Behind this, ripe peach, lemon, candied orange peel and a touch of tropical fruit like mango and pineapple unfold. Spicy notes of herbs, fine yeasty tones and floral nuances of elderflower complement the complexity.

On the palate, an impressive, well-integrated acidity unfolds, accompanied by an almost salty minerality. The texture is full-bodied and at the same time elegant, with a long-lasting, intense taste experience that offers a harmonious interplay of fruit and minerality.

Grown on Devonian blue slate on the steep slopes of the Moselle terraces. Hand-picking, spontaneous fermentation and long lees aging characterize the style. The wine is an expression of an uncompromising focus on terroir – no "make-up" aromatics, just pure origin. A Moselle Riesling with depth and edge.

The Heymann-Löwenstein winery, founded in 1980 by Reinhard Löwenstein and Cornelia Heymann-Löwenstein in Winningen, is a pioneer in the Moselle region. The roots of winegrowing in the Löwenstein family go back to the 16th century. Today the winery covers around 15 hectares, almost entirely planted with Riesling vines. The wines are produced on slate soils that are over 400 million years old and reflect the diversity of these unique terroirs. Reinhard Löwenstein, often referred to as the "slate whisperer", attaches great importance to the authenticity of his wines. Spontaneous fermentation, long maceration and careful vinification in large wooden barrels characterize the wines, which are known for their complexity and depth.
