wine description

Peach lemon with honey slate.

The Heymann-Löwenstein Uhlen Roth Lay presents itself in the glass with a brilliant, golden yellow color. The clear reflections and the radiant purity testify to the highest quality and increase the anticipation of the first sip.

On the nose, this Riesling unfolds a complex aroma with hints of ripe peach, apricot and a touch of honey. Citrus notes and mineral nuances of slate complement the bouquet and give it an elegant freshness.

On the palate, the wine delights with a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. The intense fruitiness of apple and lemon is accompanied by a fine minerality. The mouthfeel is creamy and full-bodied, with a long, harmonious finish.

This exceptional Riesling comes from the steep slate slopes of the Mosel, where the vines thrive optimally. The careful hand-picking and gentle vinification in the cellar ensure the highest quality. The long maturation on the yeast gives the wine additional complexity and depth.

Heymann-Löwenstein

Masterful Mosel Rieslings, characterized by tradition, terroir and an unmistakable winemaker philosophy

The Heymann-Löwenstein winery, founded in 1980 by Reinhard Löwenstein and Cornelia Heymann-Löwenstein in Winningen, is a pioneer in the Moselle region. The roots of winegrowing in the Löwenstein family go back to the 16th century. Today the winery covers around 15 hectares, almost entirely planted with Riesling vines. The wines are produced on slate soils that are over 400 million years old and reflect the diversity of these unique terroirs. Reinhard Löwenstein, often referred to as the "slate whisperer", attaches great importance to the authenticity of his wines. Spontaneous fermentation, long maceration and careful vinification in large wooden barrels characterize the wines, which are known for their complexity and depth.
