Weinbeschreibung

Lime zest with a petrol-like peach note.

The glass reveals a clear, bright gold with greenish reflections, like morning sun on wet slate. The viscosity is finely drawn, calm and controlled. Slender legs run slowly down the glass, promising tension instead of heaviness, precision instead of an opulent show.

The nose remains deliberately cool and restrained. Lemon, lime peel, and white peach meet apple core, apricot, and fresh herbs. Beneath lies that typical Stolzenberg signature of wet stone, flint, and a hint of petrol. Clear, stony, focused.

On the palate, surprisingly creamy at first, then immediately taut like a freshly tensioned steel cable. The acidity grips without pinching. Citrus fruit, peach, and a hint of honey glide over herbal-spicy minerality, accompanied by a subtle touch of dark chocolate in the long, dry finish.

The Stolzenberg grows on extremely steep slate terraces, hand-picked in several passes. Spontaneous fermentation, long lees aging, minimal intervention. No makeup, no fuss. This wine thrives on origin and patience, not technology. That's why it appears so clear, cool, and uncompromisingly unique.

Heymann-Löwenstein

Masterful Mosel Rieslings, characterized by tradition, terroir and an unmistakable winemaker philosophy

The Heymann-Löwenstein winery, founded in 1980 by Reinhard Löwenstein and Cornelia Heymann-Löwenstein in Winningen, is a pioneer in the Moselle region. The roots of winegrowing in the Löwenstein family go back to the 16th century. Today the winery covers around 15 hectares, almost entirely planted with Riesling vines. The wines are produced on slate soils that are over 400 million years old and reflect the diversity of these unique terroirs. Reinhard Löwenstein, often referred to as the "slate whisperer", attaches great importance to the authenticity of his wines. Spontaneous fermentation, long maceration and careful vinification in large wooden barrels characterize the wines, which are known for their complexity and depth.
