Weinbeschreibung

Tropical freshness meets minerality.

The Schubert Sauvignon Blanc shines in the glass with a bright straw yellow with greenish reflections. The clear and radiant color indicates a fresh and lively wine that embodies youthful elegance.

The bouquet captivates with aromas of tropical fruits like pineapple and guava, accompanied by citrus notes such as lime and grapefruit. Delicate nuances of gooseberry, fresh herbs, and subtle mineral accents lend a multi-layered depth to the nose.

On the palate, a lively freshness unfolds with crisp acidity and expressive fruit. Exotic fruits and citrus notes combine harmoniously with a delicate herbaceous spice. A mineral backbone ensures a long, elegant finish.

The grapes come from the gravelly soils of Wairarapa, which lend the wine its characteristic minerality. The region's cool, maritime breeze and intense hours of sunshine promote a slow ripening process, preserving the wine's aromatic complexity and freshness.

At the end of his school days in the Swabian town of Waiblingen, Kai Schubert already knew two things for sure: "Pinot Noir is my passion" and "I want to be a winemaker". No sooner said than done. After completing his viticulture studies in Geisenheim, the career changer began a worldwide search for the right place for a winery with the best conditions for Pinot Noir - and he chose New Zealand. In 1998, Kai emigrated to New Zealand with his partner Marion, who also became a winemaker. In Martinborough, in the very south of New Zealand's North Island, the two began planting vines on 14 hectares and realizing their dream of owning their own winery. In 2003, the first wines from Schubert Wines finally came onto the market. The success story begins...
