Renaissance Fleuriet Frères
A Story of Friendship
The Fleuriet family has been involved in winemaking in Sancerre since the 19th century. The youngest generation started the “Renaissance” project in 2014 when a good friend of the family became ill and asked for help.

The rebirth of a vineyard - a story of brothers and friends.
The Fleuriet family has been involved in agriculture in Sancerre since the 18th century. In recent years, the father, Bernard Fleuriet, has been particularly influential in shaping the wine style with his own business. He is raising his sons as young winemakers, allowing them to learn and develop their own language.
In 2014, a unique opportunity presented itself to the two winemakers - a good friend of the family, Stéphane Marchand, became seriously ill and asked the brothers for their help. They were to bring their innovative knowledge and love of sustainability to the Marchand family's vineyards. The rebirth of the fallow land in the middle of Sancerre began. What began as a project solidified and became permanent: Renaissance was born. The two brothers started out solo.
The brothers Benoit and Mathieu quickly realized that their hearts beat for more than just Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre. They are working towards the great goal of absolute sustainability. They mastered the first stage as an organic winery in 2019. It was only since the 2021 vintage that they were allowed to call themselves biodynamic, another milestone.
The conversion is complete - the vineyards have been reborn. Now we can celebrate with fine Sancerre wines that reflect the special terroir of the Loire wine region with their strong character and nobility.
organic and recently biodynamic
In a respectful way with nature, it is important to the Fleuriet brothers that their most important resource, the vineyard, is constantly improving. When the vineyards were taken over from the Marchand family, the cultivation methods were changed to non-invasive organic viticulture. Since the 2018 vintage, all wines have carried the organic seal.
But that's not all: with the 2021 vintage, the Fleuriet brothers are allowed to describe their wines as biodynamic.
Handcraft as the measure of all things
In the rows of vines in Sancerre, the Fleuriet brothers only allow manual work. Every grape is picked by hand, every vine is pruned by hand. Here, the vines are still known by name. Only manual work can ensure that the terroir is reflected in the grapes in all its glory.
Responsibility for the team in the engine room
The work in winemaking is often physically demanding and time-consuming, and not just during harvest time. Cheap workers from low-wage countries are popular. Against this background, high standards in the SOCIAL area are of fundamental importance to us.
✔ Fair wages and humane treatment
✔ Social responsibility
✔ Social commitment
"Our goal is terroir wines - they should reflect the soil and climate of our wonderful Sancerre vineyards 1 to 1 through painstaking manual work."

Sancerre.
While the soil in the east of the region is heavily influenced by flint, Sancerre is heavily chalky. Further west, marl and gravel characterize the soil and give the wines a fruity character.
