    Weinbeschreibung

Ripe cherry with nuanced smoked pepper notes.

A deep ruby red with garnet nuances gives this Pinot Noir an inviting, almost velvety elegance in the glass. The intense color indicates a remarkable structure and depth that makes this wine special.

Aromas of ripe cherry and strawberry are complemented by notes of vanilla and chocolate. Subtle nuances of smoke, leather and pepper, accompanied by hints of dried rose petals and spices, give the bouquet an extraordinary complexity.

Soft and velvety on the palate, with perfectly integrated tannins and a lively acidity. Black fruits and spicy oak combine to create a long finish that balances the mouthfeel elegantly and refreshingly and makes you want to take the next sip.

French oak aging gives this Pinot Noir its depth and subtle wood notes. The cool conditions and mineral soils of Wairarapa promote slow maturation, which concentrates flavors and produces a distinctive minerality and structure.

No sooner said than done. After completing his viticulture studies in Geisenheim, the career changer began a worldwide search for the right place for a winery with the best conditions for Pinot Noir - and he chose New Zealand. In 1998, Kai emigrated to New Zealand with his partner Marion, who also became a winemaker. In Martinborough, in the very south of New Zealand's North Island, the two began planting vines on 14 hectares and realizing their dream of owning their own winery. In 2003, the first wines from Schubert Wines finally came onto the market. The success story begins...
