Soave Classico 2024
Soave Classico
Soave Classico
Elegant florality with fruity almond.
The Inama Soave Classico is a quiet seducer with a sharp edge – like a white linen shirt, freshly ironed and sun-dried on Italian volcanic rock. In the glass, it presents itself bright yellow and crystal clear – no excessive sparkle, no ostentatious opulence. This color? A visual promise of freshness, precision, and an almost zen-like tranquility in the glass.
Chamomile, elderflower, iris – not an obtrusive cloud of perfume, but delicate floral aromas that make it seem as if the wine itself has breathed. Plus a hint of stone – that slightly salty scent that rises when summer rain hits warm asphalt. Elegant and grounded.
Finely chiselled minerality meets a hint of almond, like freshly roasted and still warm. The sweetness? Discreet, almost fleeting – more a memory than a statement. The acidity provides structure and grip, but remains in the background like a good bassist in a jazz band: perceptible, but never intrusive.
Volcanic soil is not a marketing gimmick – it is the backbone of this wine. The Garganega grape, deeply rooted there, contributes precisely this mineral finesse that gives Soave its identity. No uniformity, but character with origin.
Northern Italian family tradition and modern methods at the Inama volcanic winery.
Inama Azienda Agricola was founded in the 1960s by Giuseppe Inama, who began acquiring small plots of land in the Soave Classico, a region known for its unique volcanic soils. Today the estate extends over 30 hectares and is run by the third generation of the Inama family. Giuseppe recognized early on the potential of the region to produce exceptional wines that impress with their mineral and floral character.
The winery now grows both red and white grape varieties. Originally known for its white Soave wines, Inama expanded its portfolio to include Sauvignon Blanc and, in the 1990s, red varieties such as Carmenère and Merlot. The family places great importance on caring for the vines and treating nature with respect in order to reflect the unique characteristics of the terroir in the wine. Today, the winery is run by son Stefano and grandchildren, Matteo, Luca and Alessio, who continue his vision with passion and a spirit of innovation.
