Weinbeschreibung

Cool cherry with dark berry.

In the glass, a transparent ruby red with slightly brick-red reflections at the rim is visible. The color appears typically Burgundian. Fine, elegant, and built more on finesse than on power. A Pinot Noir that optically already makes it clear that precision and origin are more important here than mere extraction.

The nose opens with clear red fruit. Sour cherry, cranberry and a hint of dark berries emerge first. Behind them are earthy nuances of mushroom and damp stone. Added to this are delicate hints of cocoa, toast and a fine touch of cedar wood.

On the palate, cool, precise, and finely structured. The acidity flows through the wine like a fresh mountain stream, carrying aromas of cherry and red berries. The tannins are silky, almost dusty-fine. The finish reveals spice, a hint of pepper, and stony minerality.

Pinot Noir from the Mosel remains an exceptional phenomenon. The steep slate terraces yield grapes with cool aromatics and a mineral tension. The aging process emphasizes restraint rather than opulent oak spice, keeping the focus clearly on origin, structure, and the subtle elegance of the grape variety.

Heymann-Löwenstein

Masterful Mosel Rieslings, characterized by tradition, terroir and an unmistakable winemaker philosophy

The Heymann-Löwenstein winery, founded in 1980 by Reinhard Löwenstein and Cornelia Heymann-Löwenstein in Winningen, is a pioneer in the Moselle region. The roots of winegrowing in the Löwenstein family go back to the 16th century. Today the winery covers around 15 hectares, almost entirely planted with Riesling vines. The wines are produced on slate soils that are over 400 million years old and reflect the diversity of these unique terroirs. Reinhard Löwenstein, often referred to as the "slate whisperer", attaches great importance to the authenticity of his wines. Spontaneous fermentation, long maceration and careful vinification in large wooden barrels characterize the wines, which are known for their complexity and depth.
