Weinbeschreibung

Herbal passionfruit with citrusy gooseberry.

In the glass, a clear, pale straw yellow with greenish reflections appears, like sunlight on alpine spring water. The viscosity seems delicate and precise; the tears run quickly, announcing freshness, tension, and a cool, taut style with a Northern Italian signature.

Immediately animating and focused on the nose. Gooseberry, lime and passion fruit set the tone, flanked by elderflower, fresh herbs and a hint of wet stone. No loud exoticism, but clear contours, cool fruit and alpine minerality.

Tight and precise on the palate, with acidity like a taut wire rope. Citrus freshness, gooseberry, and a hint of peach meet saline minerality. The wine doesn't glide, it marches. Linear, cool, with enormous pull and a long, vibrating finish.

High-altitude South Tyrolean vineyards, cool nights and long growing seasons shape a Sauvignon here with tension instead of opulence. Gentle harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, and precise selection preserve the clear fruit, freshness, and the stony, alpine character.

Tenuta Pfitscher

Steep family affair.

The Pfitscher family can be wonderfully compared to their wines. Each has their own character, but they all have one thing in common: they are honest and straightforward. Together they pursue the goal of making “great” wines. The Pfitschers have been pursuing this goal for seven generations and the last three are currently at work. From Grandpa Alfred, who still helps out in the vineyard, to Dad Klaus, who continues to advise as cellar master, and Mom Monika, who holds the reins in the office, to the youngest generation: the three siblings Daniel, Hannes and Marion. The former is the brains for marketing and sales, Hannes has dedicated himself to the vineyard and winemaking and Marion is the organizational talent.
