Navicelle Rouge 2022
Navicelle Rouge
Syrah
Mourvèdre
Navicelle Rouge
Dark currant with spicy tobacco.
In the glass, the Navicelle Rouge displays a clear, medium-bodied ruby red with a slight violet hue. The color appears fresh and vibrant, not over-extracted, with transparent depth. When swirled, it forms fine, quick legs, indicating a juicy structure.
On the nose, red and dark berries are prominent, with cherry, raspberry, and a hint of blackberry. These are accompanied by Mediterranean herbs, a touch of pepper, and a hint of garrigue. The aroma remains clear, dry, and well-focused.
This aroma continues on the palate - beautifully harmonious and round, without being loud: ripe cherry, blueberry, juniper berry and fresh pepper. For all its spiciness, fruitiness and depth, the Navicelle Rouge is still a mild wine.
The cuvée of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre offers good ageing potential – but the Provençal red already convinces us!
Unbridled freshness and fine elegance.
It wasn't that long ago that the team around Romain Magnanou and Alice Euvrard (both originally from Bordeaux) took over the business of the Domaine de la Navicelle in 2019. While Alice is particularly responsible for the brand and sales, winemaker and oenologist Romain gives the wines his unique signature. Romain learned, studied and always practiced viticulture in Bordeaux from an early age.
