    Weinbeschreibung

Blackberry seasoning with a cigar grip

Deep ruby with a garnet rim – no longer youthful, but not yet an old wine. Clear, dense, with viscous tears on the glass rim. You can tell at first glance: It has lived a little – but it's still full of life.

The nose starts with power and elegance: dark cherries, cassis, cigar box, toasted wood. Accompanied by dark chocolate, licorice, and a hint of leather. The overall impression is structured, almost symphonic. With aeration, notes of dried herbs, black tea, and warm earth emerge – depth without gloominess.

On the palate, the 2011 reveals its origins: powerful, dense, and precise. The tannins have grip, yet no longer any harsh edges. Ripe black fruit, plenty of oak spice, a touch of cinnamon. The texture: silky, yet assertive. Not a showy performance – more like an actor who knows when silence is effective. The finish is long, balsamic, slightly salty – like a river that never stops flowing.

2011 was a ripe, warm year – perfect for structured wines with aging potential. The Solideo was, as always, elaborately vinified: selective hand-picking, temperature-controlled fermentation, long aging in American and French oak. Afterwards: bottle rest. What ends up in your glass is the result of tradition, time, and uncompromising selection.

    Dehesa de los Canónigos

Dehesa de los Canonigos is one of the great historical estates of the Ribera del Duero and one of the best Tempranillo producers – and all without any “brand stickers”.

Ribera del Duero - This region produces Spain's most expensive red wines, and it's teeming with names that command hundreds of euros per bottle – Pingus, Vega Sicilia, Emilio Moro, and many more. These are the neighbors of Belen and Ivan, who are now running their Dehesa los Canonigos for the 5th generation. The name translates to "Pasture of the Canons" and refers to the canons of the cathedral in Valladolid and their possessions in the region.
The two siblings form a perfect team. Belen's domain is the wine cellar, while Ivan handles the management of the winery and the accompanying agricultural land. With great passion, the two siblings produce wines that can easily compete with their neighbors: they manage to reach the top at a fair price. In 2025, the winery was ranked number 1 among all wineries by the renowned magazine "Verema". Without purchased "brand labels".
