Sancerre La Côte de l'Épée
Sancerre La Côte de l'Épée

Juicy flint with mineral mirabelle plum.
Côte de l'Epée has a strong golden yellow color.
The minerality explodes on the nose - light flint notes with salty notes. A basic structure of juicy acidity and concentrated, highly ripe yellow fruit - mirabelle plum, nectarine, peach - make the flint shine.
The Sauvignon Blanc is very filling on the palate. A multi-layered experience that takes us on a journey of aromas through acidity, fruit and minerality. Thanks to its precise mineral notes, the wine lingers for a very long time.
The 50-year-old vines grow on limestone interspersed with flint. The wine was fermented in a concrete egg and then matured in the same concrete egg for 10-12 months.
The rebirth of a vineyard - a story of brothers and friends.
The Fleuriet family has been involved in agriculture in Sancerre since the 18th century. In recent years, the father, Bernard Fleuriet, has been particularly influential in shaping the wine style with his own business. He is raising his sons as young winemakers, allowing them to learn and develop their own language.
In 2014, a unique opportunity presented itself to the two winemakers - a good friend of the family, Stéphane Marchand, became seriously ill and asked the brothers for their help. They were to bring their innovative knowledge and love of sustainability to the Marchand family's vineyards. The rebirth of the fallow land in the middle of Sancerre began. What began as a project solidified and became permanent: Renaissance was born. The two brothers started out solo.
The brothers Benoit and Mathieu quickly realized that their hearts beat for more than just Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre. They are working towards the great goal of absolute sustainability. They mastered the first stage as an organic winery in 2019. It was only since the 2021 vintage that they were allowed to call themselves biodynamic, another milestone.
The conversion is complete - the vineyards have been reborn. Now we can celebrate with fine Sancerre wines that reflect the special terroir of the Loire wine region with their strong character and nobility.
