Grauburgunder Loess
Grauburgunder Loess

Mineral pear with almonds and apricot.
In a fresh, sunny yellow with delicate green tinges, the Pinot Gris dances through our glass.
Green pear, almond, elderberry, wild herbs and not quite ripe apricot greet us on the nose.
A light mineral note gives the characterful Pinot Gris Löss with a light yeast note something light-footed and carefree.
The wine was harvested early, fermented and thus matured dry. Its stimulating acidity and its freshness ensure that it flows like a mountain stream.
The Peter Wagner Way: Elegant freshness versus lush sweetness. Dry and fully fermented development, long yeast storage. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Peter Wagner is a winner - young, focused, progressive. After studying in Geisenheim and gaining 5 years of experience as a cellar master at "the" Franz Keller from Kaiserstuhl, he took over his parents' business in Oberrotweil and started from zero to one hundred with the 2017 vintage. Peter Wagner scores points with his own style, which seems unusual for the Kaiserstuhl: he harvests his grapes relatively early in the year in order to counteract the Baden wine with its typical lush sweetness with a slim and elegant freshness. In addition, his wines are matured dry and fully fermented, stored on the yeast for a long time and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
